The Video Graphics Adapter (VGA), is an analog computer display standard that was first marketed by IBM in 1987. Although the standard VGA is no longer used because it has been replaced by a newer standard, VGA is still implemented on a Pocket PC. VGA is the last graphic standard followed by the majority of computer graphics card manufacturers. Display Windows until now still uses VGA mode because it is supported by many monitor manufacturers and graphics cards.

VGA Card function, which is often called a Graphic Card (graphics card) or Video Card, is a function to translate / convert digital signals from a computer to a graphical display on the monitor screen. 1. DRAM
   

Type of VGA card that has a type of DRAM memory (dynamic RAM) with speeds of 70 - 80 ns. Usually the type of DRAM mem, 16, and 32 bits. The use of DRAM memory is intended for beginner level computers that do not require high speed and lots of graphic colors.

       2   VRAM

VGA cards with VRAM have speeds of 20-10 ns. For the problem of the price of VGA cards with VRAM is more expensive than the VGA card with DRAM. Usually VRAM is installed on a VGA card that is used for computer graphic design and gaming. Brand VGA card with VRAM, namely diamond fire GL, 3000 stealth 3D, stealth 64, etc.

     

 3  SGRAM

This type of VGA card has SGRAM memory type (Synchronous Graphic RAM) with a speed of less than 10 ns. Most SGRAM VGA Cards are used on high-class graphics cards that have 3D accelerator capabilities such as Matrox MGA millennium, 3D mystique, Diamond viper, S2 II stealth, ATI Rage II 3D pro, ASUS 3D explorer, etc.

1.      Onboard VGA

 is a VGA that is installed on the mainboard or VGA card from the motherboard. The quality of this Onboard VGA Card can be said is not so good, but if it is only used to open office programs or games that are not too heavy the Onboard VGA Card is still quite good.

2.      VGA Offboard or VGA Card add-on

The VGA Card add-on is a VGA Card that has not been integrated on the motherboard or there is no VGA on the computer motherboard. The VGA quality is better than the Onboard VGA. For the VGA Offboard there are several types of which include: VGA PCI, VGA AGP, VGA PCI EXPRES.
